Gardens are not just the land: they are the very relationships between the land and the people who tend it. So I meet the relationship wherever it is at, weaving patterns and creating place so you can be nourished by the garden, and it by you. I collect knowledge about your household’s needs, your experiences in gardening, and what the land is telling us about itself. I avoid band-aid solutions for problems in the landscape, and instead rely on careful observations to bring about long-term success, beauty, and health in your garden using native plants and habitat supports.

I offer services in landscape design, planting, maintenance, coaching, and consultation. I’ve tended some gardens for years, while I’ve visited others for one-time consults, week-long maintenance blitzes, or seasonal redesigns.

With 7 years of professional experience and study in fine gardening, landscape design & contracting, and the local ecology of the Willamette Valley, I provide well-rounded habitat-focused care for Portland’s residential landscapes.
